Los Angeles Chinatown Firecracker 10k
3.1.15
This was such a cool run to celebrate Chinese New Year. One of my favorite & hardest races! Check out the awesome shirt we got for Year of the Ram! The medals were soooo cool too. The day before the race we picked up our race packets in Chinatown. They had performers, vendors, and just overall a fun atmosphere. I did not feel like I was in LA which was really cool. The run started out very challenging. The first 3 miles they gave us nothing but hills, and they would pop up all throughout! Despite feeling like I was dying…the view we got of LA was so worth it. It was a really big accomplishment running hills like that without stopping. You bet I was sooo sore for days after!

Los Angeles New Year's Race 10k
1.3.15
This race was my first “long run” (longer than 3 mi). 2014 was my year of 5ks. I always told myself when I’d run 5ks that there was NO WAY I’d ever do anything longer than 3 miles! Your mind really is your biggest obstacle. My dad convinced me to bump our race up to a 10k and I’m so grateful we just went for it. We had a lot of fun getting dressed for this race in our nighttime “flash gear” & winter accessories. The race started in DTLA at night. I loved running underneath the city lights in the middle of the streets with a huge crowd. We had a few hills as we made our way up to Dodger Stadium towards the turnaround point, but I felt amazing the whole time knowing I was going to accomplish something big. The feeling of crossing that finish line in Grand Park was amazing to say the least. I’m so happy I pushed myself out of my comfort zone to start the New Year (2015) off right.
