Carrera de los Muertos 5k
10.31.15

I earned my candy this Halloween. Fun race with great energy!!! Read blog post recap on my home page.

Nike app didn't start :( The clock was around 24:00 minutes though. Probably close to the HBDLA5k. Not sure If I PRd it, but it was a good push!

What better way to celebrate the amazing & beautiful city of Los Angeles than to run allover it?! On LA's 234th birthday, I along with a bunch of runners hit the streets of LA to celebrate. The 5k was organized by the run group BlackListLA. Checkout my blog post for the full recap!

Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas 5k
11.15.14

This race was AWESOME. The race took place in Las Vegas, my hometown. Earlier in the day we had a complimentary yoga session held by Lululemon at SLS Hotel & Casino. So relaxing! I think it definitely helped us loosen up for the race that night because I felt so fast! It was so cool being able to run a part of the strip at night. The energy was incredible. I felt like I was at a big rave concert. The next day I watched my dad run the Rock 'n' Roll half marathon, but this year I plan on crossing the finish line with him!

2014 LA Hard Rock 5k
11.8.14

For this race we ran up & down Hollywood Blvd. My dad and I took our friend Sara, it was her first 5k & she killed it! We ate a super yummy breakfast at Hard Rock Café after while we stared at our super sparkly awesome medals.

Santa Monica Runfest
10.19.14

This was a major “healing run” for me (much needed after a super emotional week). Running is my way of dealing with problems  because I just forget everything. Cheapest therapy ever. This was a really pretty run by Santa Monica Pier. I felt an overwhelming sense of good vibes from all the Cali runners that day!

Herbalife 5k
9.21.14

My dad and I ran with a bunch of friends in the 5k portion of the Herbalife Triathlon held in Torrance. We got to the start line super early to watch everyone take off in the swim portion. It was so cool watching everyone run out of the water, strip, and hop on their bikes. We picked up on a lot of interesting techniques! This was a bit of a hilly run with the last mile in the sand, definitely a challenge! Being surrounded by fun-fit friends motivated me to give it my all.

OC Fair 5k
8.3.14

The Orange County Fair hosted a 5k fun run before they opened their doors. It was a really cool experience running through the actual fair before it was packed full of people. Seeing all the stands that sell crazy fried food combos was very entertaining (kindof torture at the same time). The smell of horses & fair food wasn’t exactly the best when you’re trying to run a race! We hopped on a few rides after we finished up!

Live Ultimate Run 5k
5.25.14

This race is very special to me because it was my first 5k where I really RAN. It started right by the Staples Center in DTLA. It was my first experience taking a photo by the start, putting the bib & tracking chip on, checking out all the other runners, receiving a medal, and really pushing myself. I feel like I became a runner that day. The run seemed pretty long throughout, but I had a blast! My dad played “Haim” (one of our fave bands), so whenever I hear their music I think of this run.  The last sprint through the finish line almost killed me but gave me the biggest runner’s high! I remember my dad saying how good I did and being so excited. I never considered myself a “good runner”, but at that moment I was like...I guess I can do this!
