I Feel Prettiest When I Sweat - Sweat Talk

Today my good friend Janell aka Sweat Talk hosted her first event at SpeedPlay LA. (pretty lady right next to me in that fab sweat squad^^) Janell has a beyond beautiful blog that covers fitness & wellness. Check it out here & be sure to follow her on social media! So lets get to the part where we almost died...I mean "worked out"...jk jk. Janell took me to my first SpeedPlay LA workout a few months ago, and I absolutely loved it! It is so unique because it is a group fitness class that incorporates cardio & strength in one quick sweaty HIIT routine. We would do a minute of each exercise listed for our station totaling to a sweaty 4 minutes, then take a lap around, then repeat! After our second set was done we'd tackle the rest of the stations. Talk about a total body workout!
The machines they use are amazing because they require no electricity at all. The Woodway Curve treadmill is my fave! I love to start out on this one. It is completely powered by your own two feet. You are in complete control! After the tread we tackled rowing machines, lower body, abs, and upper body. Abs were probably the hardest! I can pretty much do core exercises all day thanks to POP PIlates...but doing them on the BOSU ball was another story.

After the workout we had such a great yoga sesh led by Arielle. It was a great way to cool down. Ari made us connect to our ujjayi breath which totally helped us focus an mellow out. I love what she had to say during our practice about how it is so important to be grateful for the fully functioning healthy bodies we live in. A lot of us tear ourselves apart and take working out and little tasks for granted. We are so lucky to be able to have the abilities we do! Also, she made a great point how much stress takes a toll on your body. If you are having a difficult time getting into a pose or aren't feeling great during your workout, there is most likely something going on in your life. The whole yoga sesh was awesome besides the giant beetle flying around scaring us half to death (most likely a test from the universe to focus)! Thank you Ari for helping us release and find clarity.

We were spoiled EVEN MORE with some sweet treats from Picky Bars, NOKA Superfood Blend, and Philosophie. Sophie the creator of Philosophie was sweet enough to make us all a giant batch of super food balls (those are the orange things)! Ummm omg...YUM. They were soooo GOOD. I am definitely checking out her blog to steal ALL her recipes. She gave me a jar of coconut magic spread which is literally MAGIC (I'll be eating this by the spoonful). Thanks guys for the goodies!

Today was filled with tons of sweat, but even more laughs and new friends! I love waking up early and getting my sweat on with a group of fun positive people. Thanks Blake for leading an awesome class and not killing us too bad. #blakesweatandtears BIG thank you to Janell for bringing all of us health nuts & fitness fanatics together. So happy to be your workout buddy & friend.
